Microneedling

Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that encourages collagen production in your skin. As we age, we lose collagen, the essential component to the look of plump, supple skin. By creating small micro-punctures in the skin using sterilized needles, the skins healing process generates new collagen and skin tissue which will smooth, tone, and firm your skin.

What to Expect

  • Come with a clean face and let us do the rest.
  • The treatment will take approximately 30 minutes. We will first prep your face with a short acting local anesthetic to make it as comfortable as possible.  Then once we’re finished with the target areas, we will apply a nourishing hyaluronic acid serum that will aid in healing and plumping of the skin.
  • We will use a small pen-like tool containing sterilized needles that create small pinpricks in your skin. They are so small you likely won’t even notice them after the procedure.
  • You may experience some minor redness, bruising, or bleeding after a session. This should last only 1-2 days as your skin heals itself.
  • You should see results in about 4-6 weeks after a session. A series of sessions 4-6 weeks apart will yield the best results.
  • After finishing the targeted areas, we will apply a hyaluronic acid serum to aid in the healing process.
  • A great treatment in conjunction with our beauty bag IV hydration.

Microneedling with PRP

Microneedling with PRP (platelet rich plasma) takes your microneedling experience to the next level. Plasma is the liquid gold component of your blood. Plasma contains important factors such as antibodies, clotting factors, proteins, albumin, and fibrinogen. These components are key in terms of wound healing and cell regeneration. Using these special properties from your own blood will help heal your skin, improve your skin tone, and smooth out imperfections.

We will draw a small amount of your blood, and spin it down in a centrifuge that separates the red blood components from the plasma gold components. This whole process of spinning your blood takes about 10 minutes. While your blood is spinning, you will be relaxing in our chair while the numbing medication is taking effect. We will then take the liquid gold from the sample and use that as the serum for your microneedling treatment. Using PRP can allow you to notice results faster, as well as heal more quickly after a treatment. Microneedling with PRP is more effective than microneedling alone, but both techniques will help you achieve radiant, beautiful skin. As with microneedling alone, we recommend a series of at least 3 treatments for maximum results.

Pre-Treatment

  • Before a microneedling treatment, avoid using topical agents such as retinoids or exfoliators for about 2 days as they may increase the sensitivity of your skin and redness and irritation after the treatment.
  • You should avoid aspirin and NSAIDS for 7 days prior to a treatment.
  • If you have any skin infections or acne in areas of treatment, it will be best to reschedule when those conditions have subsided.

Post-Treatment

  • Since your skin channels are open and sensitive after your procedure its best to avoid the following for the first week
    • Direct sunlight
    • Heavy makeup
    • Skin care products containing retinol and AHA
    • Excessive sweating
  • You can help your skin heal after a treatment by:
    • Properly hydrating
    • Using an antioxidant serum
    • Using a cooling mask
  • It may take multiple treatments approximately 4-6 weeks apart to start seeing the full effects to achieve the ultimate glow.
